Dr. George Simon has over 30 years of experience in the financial industries. Initially, in the early 1980’s, he was involved in the commodities business running a hedge fund. Since successfully completing the Series 7 broker exam in 1985, he has worked with various wire houses until 1987, when he began working independently.
First as a stock broker, then as a brokerage company owner, George developed a business in collaboration with a number of broker/dealers and clearing firms that provided trading support for European financial institutions.
In 1992, George opened the State of New Hampshire Trade Office in Budapest, the first of such entities between the US and Hungary. The early 1990’s also marked a period in which he had become involved in the development of the new Hungarian Stock market. During that time, he also had served as an Advisor for Pannon Váltó, led by Dr. Gyula Scheuer the current Chancellor of ELTE University, and supported their complete portfolio overhaul. In 1996, with an American business partner, he formed his first US Broker Dealer – “American and Overseas Brokers” – which was later merged with AKJ Securities in 1999.
His current company, the European Family Office Institute LLC (EFOI), was formed in 2017 and is fully approved and licensed by the SEC, FINRA, and the State of Florida. EFOI LLC is a hybrid firm with both Broker/Dealer and Portfolio Manager Licenses. The firm operates under CRD # 285357.
George has written a daily financial advisory blog, Ezt Látni a Lövészárokból – Jelenti Uncle George, for over 10 years, which is distributed electronically.
